According to this article, "Women, Mathematics and Computing", and many others the number of women in computer science has been declining recently.There have been different attempts to explain the phenomenon and some efforts to make the field more attractive and friendly to women. As a man in computer science with mostly males in my classes, I think this would be a nice change. However, this needs to be handled in the right way. I'm not sure what the answer is, but the bar should not be lowered for women. This would only make it unfair for the men and imbalance gender equality the other way.
Just in case this post seems as random to you as it does to me, allow me to explain. My husband has to keep a blog on computer science topics. He accidentally posted this one to my blog instead of his. I am keeping it here until he can show it to his TAs.
